Luigi Ciarrocchi

Born in Pedaso in 1961. Graduated in Mining Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin, he joined Eni in 1990. He currently holds the position of Director of CCUS, Forestry and Agrofeedstock, and previously the position of Director of Upstream Italian Activities. He began his career in the Reservoirs Management as a Reservoir Engineer to deal with the study of reservoirs in Italy, Russia and Kazakhstan. In 1992 he began an international career path, moving first to the UK as a Petroleum Engineer and subsequently to Nigeria and Congo as Operations Manager, gaining operational and management experience in complex environments. In 2003 he returned to Italy to take on the role of Manager of the Ortona Operational District. In 2006 he moved to Croatia as Managing Director of Eni Croatia, while in 2007 he was called to cover a similar role in Pakistan. He returned to the parent company in 2008 initially as Vice President Management Coordination Turkmenistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and China and subsequently as Senior Vice President Management Coordination Far East and Pacific. In 2014 he was appointed President and CEO of Tecnomare S.p.A., an engineering company of the Eni group. In 2015 he held the position of manager of the "Gela Area Development Initiatives" program for the economic relaunch of the area and the redevelopment of the territory through a new development model with high economic, environmental and social sustainability. He has held the position of president of Assorisorse since 2018, the Italian Association of Natural Resources and Sustainable Energy which brings together companies in the energy supply chain committed to valorising available natural resources, until September 2023.
