Emilio Giorgi

He has over 30 years of experience working in the financial sector. Graduated in industrial economics from the Bocconi University of Milan in 1990, with a thesis on corporate venture capital in the US High Tech sector, he began working in London as an investment banking analyst for Barclays, before moving on to various roles at Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Swiss Re and Merrill Lynch.
He is currently Chief Risk Officer of the Enpam Foundation, a first pillar pension scheme for Italian doctors and dentists, where he joined in 2014 with the role of Chief Investment Officer. Over time, he was responsible for the reorganization of the asset governance process, the redefinition of the ALM approach and investment processes and finally the construction of an integrated platform for the evaluation, allocation and monitoring of portfolio risk, in line with international practices.  The transition towards the new ALM scheme "Liability Driven Investments" is underway. It periodically reports to the bodies on assets, also providing analytical support on macro trends, and interfaces with the supervisory commissions.

After his initial training as an analyst at Barclays, he moved to Citibank as a derivatives trader and then to Morgan Stanley as Vice President - Global Equity. After an experience at Unicredit as Head of Capital Markets and at MPS as head of product factories, in 2002 he returned to Citigroup as Director - Corporate Derivatives, dealing with Asset Liability Management operations and balance sheet optimization for listed corporates and public entities. Subsequently he is at Swiss Re as Executive Director for the management of the property portfolio on illiquid equity risk, and then at Merrill Lynch where he deals with institutional management.
In carrying out his profession he has always favored professional mentoring to improve the quality of people and promote a positive team spirit, which also led him to participate in various charities focused on supporting the learning of the weakest. 
Fluent in English and French, he is passionate about contemporary art.
